Pullback In U.S. Stocks, HK Stocks Opened Higher

U.S. Stocks 

Fundamental Analysis: 

U.S. stocks entered a technical pullback on Tuesday, 22nd February 2022 as investors weighed the consequences of escalating tensions in Ukraine and sanctions against Russia announced by President Joe Biden.

The benchmark S&P 500 index fell for a third straight day, closing down by 1%. The index has now fallen by more than 10% from the record closing high touched in January.

Meanwhile, the S&P 11 major industry sectors fell across the board, led by the non-essential consumer goods and energy sectors. In addition, the Nasdaq 100 index fell 1%, and the Dow Jones fell by 1.4%.

Technical Analysis: 

(Dow 30, 1-hour chart) 

Execution Insight: 

The Dow is focused on the suppression strength of the 33811-line today. If the Dow runs stably below the 33811-line, it will pay attention to the support strength of the 33390 and 32975 positions. If the Dow breaks above the 33811-line, it will pay attention to the suppression strength of the 34477-line.

Hong Kong Stocks 

Fundamental Analysis: 

Hong Kong stocks opened higher, with the Hang Seng Index (HSI) rising by 0.42%, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) rising by 0.4%, and the Hang Seng TECH Index (HSTECH) rising 0.16%.

Large technology stocks were mixed, with NetEase, Inc. (9999.HK) falling by more than 3%, Baidu, Inc. (9888.HK) falling by more than 2%, Alibaba Group Holding Limited (9988.HK) falling by more than 1%, and JD.com, Inc. (9618.HK) rising slightly.

Sporting goods stocks were individually strong, with Topsports International Holdings Limited (6110.HK) rising by more than 4%.

At the same time, biomedical stocks were collectively strong, with the release of China’s No. 1 Central Document for 2022. Plus, the agricultural stocks were strong, with First Tractor Company Limited (0038.HK) opened by 5% higher.

On the other hand, auto stocks fell ahead, with XPeng Inc. (9868.HK) falling by more than 4%, as beer stocks, photovoltaic stocks, power stocks, real estate stocks fell in general.

Property and financial stocks were the top gainers, with Longfor Group Holdings Limited (0960.HK) rising more than 3% to lead the HK blue chips stocks.

Technical Analysis: 

(HK50, 1-hour chart) 

Execution Insight: 

HK50 Index focuses on the 23294-line today. If HK50 can run stably above the 23294-line, then pay attention to the suppression strength of the two positions of 23818 and 24469. If the HK50 strength breaks below the 23294-line, then pay attention to the support strength of the 22785-line.

FTSE China A50 Index 

Technical Analysis: 

(FTSE China A50, 1-hour chart) 

Execution Insight: 

FTSE China A50 is paying attention to the support strength of the 14669-line today. If the A50 runs stably above the 14669-line, the top will pay attention to the suppression strength of the two positions of 15184 and 15666. If the A50 strength breaks below the 14669-line, it will open up further downside trend. At that time, pay attention to 13983-line of support.
